Much more will be added soon to this page. The Langham, and Kaslo itself was a significant WW II internment site.

The SS Moyie, misspelled as the "Mogie" in this John Valentine & Sons postcard, c. 1910, published in Scotland. Now restored and beached on the Kaslo waterfront, it is the oldest surviving passenger sternwheeler in the world. The Moyie was one of the finest of the CPR's fleet of lakeboats, plying the waters of Kootenay Lake between Kootenay Landing (below) and Argenta; launched in 1898, its decommissioning in 1957 represented the end of an era when lakeboats connected the isolated communities along the Kootenay lakes and the spread of modern highways through the area.
