Sketched 2003: Springwater Lodge at Miners Bay on Mayne
Island is certainly one of the most interesting old hotels left in
the province, and one of the best for reflecting a long-past
relationship with tourists travelling by steamship. It stands at
the end of the Miners Bay wharf, with the village's business
street extending behind it and a large playing field-cum-picnic
ground behind it. Update 2023: it's still there, with its bar and restaurant open occasionally, but hotel rooms are not available. |
